Mission or missions outreach is a very important part of our church. When Jesus was asked about the greatest commandment, he responded, "Love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. The second is like it: Love your neighbor as yourself." Mt. 22:37-39 Our members engage in mission outreach locally, nationally and internationally. We encourage their participation in these various ministries and missions as a central part of their commitment to Christ. We have taken numerous mission trips to help hurricane victims in Mississippi and have taken other trips to Belize and Haiti. Our next mission trip will be to Haiti this August.
We also support missions financially. We consistently give 27-30% of our yearly budget to mission outreach, that is to ministries outside of this church. We try to prioritze ministries that are Christ-centered, actively supported by our members and where our giving makes an appreciable difference. Budgets are theological documents that reveal what we believe is most important. As such, they are always available in the church narthex and online. 2009 Church Budget
